100 Years ago – 1926
The local warehouse of the Tobacco Growers Co-operative Association, which closed on March 5, reported a total of 464,492 pounds of tobacco that it handled. The co-op announced plans for public meetings in Greystone, Ridgeway, County Line, Axton and Figsboro.
Notice on the bottom half of the front page of the Henry Bulletin: “Notice to Klansmen – Al members of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan are urged to meet at the regular meeting place on Thursday evening of this week, there being several matters of supreme importance in the work of the Klan to be discussed. Members are urged to come promptly so that as much time as possible shall be had for the consideration of the special matters to be brought to the attention of the Klansmen at this gathering. By order of the Exalted Cyclops.

Thieves stole a parking sign belonging to McKee Funeral home, taken during a funeral near Spencer.

A new Kroger store was being built on Commonwealth Boulevard. High winds knocked down a brick wall that just has been constructed. Stanley W. Bowles Corp. was the contractor.

Piedmont Arts presented a workshop about Japanese printmaking, taught by Howard University art professor Lila Asher.
