"Be Part of History" Local History Blood Drive

Celebrate October as Local History Month in Virginia with the Martinsville-Henry County Historical Society at its "Be Part of History" Fall Blood Drive on Thursday, October 19, 2023, 10:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M.!

Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: Accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U. S. needs blood. Each year 4.5 million lives are saved by blood transfusions.

General Guidelines for Blood Donation: Be in good general health and feeling well; be at least 16 years old (16-17 years old require parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs., and have not donated in the last 56 days. More information is available at https://www.redcrossblood.org/.../eligibility....
