One of the goals of the Martinsville-Henry County Historical Society is to preserve the Historic Henry County Courthouse as a resource for our community that will enhance our economic value, improve tourism, and provide an icon that is reflective of our rich historical past, our present, and our future.

For a community rich in history, this project has helped to revitalize the downtown area and enhance the future growth potential for the city.  The building houses a museum on the first floor that documents and interprets the history of the area.  The courtroom and adjacent offices remain unchanged providing a venue for the social and business needs of the community.

The front plaza has been created to enhance the appearance of the courthouse and provide another venue for activities.
