Work has finally begun on the restoration of the Historic Henry County Courthouse. The HVAC system is being installed. Soon we will be able to have the walls and ceilings repaired and painted. The New College Institute plans to move into the first floor on the left side for their recruiting offices. We are pleased to partner with them.
The historical society is going to show at the Rives Theater on April 18th at 3 PM the documentary commissioned by the Commonwealth of Virginia titled “Virginia in the Civil War: A Sesquicentennial Remembrance”. The Executive Producer was Dr. James S. Robertson, Jr. The public is invited.
The historical society is partnering with the Department of Tourism, the city, MURA and other organizations to plan history related events in our community. Keep tuned to hear what develops.
We enjoyed being a part of the Trade Show. It was a great time to tell our community about our organization and to network with other organizations and businesses. It was great that the event took place in a historic building that has been repurposed.
