Sunday, March 6th, was a red letter day for the Historical Society. We celebrated along with over 200 people the completion of the restoration of the Historic Henry County Courthouse. Recognition was given to all those who were involved with the project. That included Henry County staff, the contractors and volunteers who made the restoration possible in addition to the Save America’s Treasures grant and the Harvest Foundation grant.
With special exhibits in place we are ready to welcome visitors to the Heritage Center & Museum, the name we have given to a portion of the courthouse. The former Treasurer’s office is now occupied by the New College Institute for their recruiting offices.
The Society has hired Debbie Hall as our first Executive Director. She has been a volunteer with the organization since its conception, but now she holds this staff position full time. For information about visiting the Museum or renting space for your next event, please call Debbie at 276-403-5361. Please come visit us.
